Why we Oppose
Secondly from Easter are depended a lot of movable feasts. For example the feast of the Saint Apostles for which it is established to be before this fast. The fast of the Saint Apostles is defined by the Easter because the rules of the Church order so. After the feast of the Pentecost, for a week we eat everything in the honor of the Holy Spirit, the next day of the Sunday of All Saints, comes the fast of the Saint Apostles whom lasts as their memory.
That is that the number we fast in days for the Saint Apostles it is not defined from the Saint Pentecost which is upholded as it is known fifty days after Easter .So the if Holy Easter is early the fast of the Apostles is prolonged through if the Holy Easter is late then the days of the fast are limited. Many years although –like the 2002- because the Easter was early and was upholded with the new (Gregorian) calendar at 5th of May ,the days were not enough for the fast of the Saint Apostles with the event to be completely removed.
Because you calculate: The feast of the Pentecost happen at 23rd of June (N.Calendar) and one week until the All Saints we reach 30th of June .The next day as it is defined by the Sacred rules supposed to begin the fast of the Saint Apostles .But how can that be, since it came by the feast of the Saints was held from the Newcalendarists at the eve of the All Saints ?
But besides those the Newcalendarists accept the Easter of Pope’s, since the “Orthodox” Church of Finland by their constitution follows the Easter of Pope’s and with it no other “Orthodox Church” reacted, but they tolerate all, the sister with her “Churches” by holding a guilty silence! Let us consider the occasion, which priests or faithfuls of other “Orthodox” Churches in Finland come together at the time of Easter.
Those are going to feast according with Pope’s Easter and returning to their countries they are going to feast it for a second time in violation of the Sacred rules. On the contrary now :in the occasion that a priest or faithful of the Finland “Church” celebrates Easter in his country and after some days happen to be in another Orthodox country. What happens? The hopeless man will feast again second time in the same year Easter. All these in the contrary of the order “Anathema to whom that he does not feast Easter according to the terms of the 1st Ecumenical Synod”. (Memoirs of Synods)
With the one-sided enforcement of the new calendar in the Orthodox Church it came back the problem that with so much wisdom solved the Holy Fathers of the 1stEcumenical Synod. Because for instance, if a Serbian priest comes in Greece at the 25th of December with the new calendar, he will feast according with calendar followed by our country the Gregorian calendar of Christ’s Birth. Maybe indeed this priest officiate in a temple. Returning after few days to his country which is (as it is known) following the Julian calendar, he will celebrate again the same feast. The same will happen to any faithful. He will listen in the Church of the new calendar the hagiography of the day:
” this 25th of this month is the birth of our Lord and God our Savior Jesus Christ” he might even commune with them because of the feast. By returning to his country after thirteen days he will hear again in the Church:”this 25th of this month is the birth of our Lord and God…”!
Alas! Where is the Church of Christ been guided to when her shepherds are disrespectful!
