Psalms Book
THE YEARLY DIVIDING OF THE PSALMS BOOK
The Psalms Book is a Holy Book that it was written by Prophet David the King to hymn God. Beside its poetic form, it also contains prophetic revelations mainly for the mankind’s forthcoming Messiah. The Church, in her adoring life, uses Psalms Book more than any other script of the Old Testament and that because the Psalms Book as a prayer has been proven a powerful weapon against Devil. The Psalms Book contains 150 psalms which constitute twenty groups which are named Kathismata. For a common way of reading to exist by all the Churches, has been appointed the quantity of the Kathismata for every day and week.
Below we lay the main tables which show how Psalms Book is read in the Church all year round, how many Kathismata and which are being read in Orthros (matins), the Hours and in Vesper. Certainly if someone wants to read the Psalms Book alone as a prayer he is not obligated to fulfill the chain shown from the tables.
