  • After the Apodosis of the Feast of Presentation of our Lord, in any occurring remembrances of Saints, we chant the Katavasiae:

  • During the first four Sundays of the Triodion meaning, a. Publican and Pharisee, b. Prodigal Son, c. Meat-Fare and d. Cheese-Fare and since the Feast of the Presentation of our Lord has apodosis, we chant the Katavasiae of each Sunday. meaning:

Prodigal Son:            «Take up the song of Moses…»

Meat-Fare:             «He is unto me for salvation…»

Cheese-Fare:              «Crossing the deep on foot…»

* For the benefit of learning seekers we note that the Apodosis of the Presentation of our Lord never falls outside the Triodion period. Thus we considered it unnecessary to note the Katavasiae of the Sunday of Publican and Pharisee
