This is a Roman Catholic “icon” of Christ entrusting (retracting?) the earth to (from? in order to give it to the next pope?) the late Pope John Paul II, who has recently been “beatified” and is on the fast track to being canonized a saint by the Vatican and whom the iconographer obviously has already canonized.
